This lot comes from Bensa in the Sidamo region of Ethiopia, grown at around 2250 meters above sea level. It is produced by Bekele Yutute and processed as a natural, meaning the whole coffee cherries are dried slowly on raised beds. During drying the cherries are turned regularly to keep the process even and the profile clean.

Bekele Yutute is a good example of how expressive Ethiopian natural coffees can be while still staying balanced and clean. Roasted in Warsaw with a focus on clarity, sweetness and everyday drinkability.
Expect notes of blackcurrant and ripe cherry with a soft milk chocolate sweetness. The cup is juicy, fruit-forward and clean, with a gentle body and a balanced finish.
In the cup the coffee is lively but not heavy. It keeps the bright fruit notes typical for Ethiopian naturals, while adding round sweetness and a smooth texture.
Brew with V60, AeroPress, Chemex or Moccamaster.
Use water around 93-96°C and a medium grind.
A slightly finer grind will bring out more fruit and intensity.
A slightly coarser grind will highlight clarity and sweetness.
