Some coffees are simply good and easy to enjoy. Daniso Horise is exactly that kind of Ethiopia – juicy, tropical and clean in the cup. It brings vibrant fruit character while staying balanced and very drinkable.
This lot comes from Shanta Wene in the Sidamo region of Ethiopia, grown at around 1950 meters above sea level. It is produced by Daniso Horise on his 7.5-hectare family farm, using agroforestry techniques that create natural shade and support soil health. Daniso and his family selectively handpick only ripe, red cherries, which are then laid on raised beds and turned regularly to ensure even drying. The whole process takes between 15 and 22 days, resulting in a clean and expressive natural.
Why you’ll love it
If you enjoy Ethiopian naturals that are tropical and fruity but still clean and easy to drink, this one works really well. It has bright passion fruit and kiwi, natural sweetness and a long chocolate finish that makes it great for everyday filter brewing.

Daniso Horise is a good example of how personal and expressive smallholder Ethiopian coffee can be. Part of the Lalisaa project, this lot is fully traceable – from a single farm, a single producer, a single family. Roasted in Warsaw with a focus on clarity, sweetness and everyday drinkability.
Daniso Horise is a classic Ethiopian natural with a tropical, juicy and very approachable profile.
Passion fruit and kiwi bring vibrant fruit character, while milk chocolate and ripe cherry add sweetness and balance. The cup is clean, smooth and easy to read, with a long finish that keeps everything in place.
It's expressive, but still calm and drinkable - a great everyday Ethiopia.
Works best as a filter coffee when you want something tropical, clean and easy to enjoy.
Use v60, chemex or batch brew, grind medium and brew with water around 92-94°C to keep the balance between fruit and chocolate. In aeropress, it becomes slightly fuller and more rounded, with a bit more body and deeper sweetness.
The chocolate note comes forward while the fruit stays present. As it cools, the passion fruit and kiwi become more pronounced and sweeter, making the cup even more juicy and smooth.
A great choice for daily brewing that stays consistent and satisfying.
